Our Values

Making disciples through four pursuits

Our weekly gatherings are intended to be celebratory, a joyful occasion to be with the family of God.

Acts 2:42, They were devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the community sharing, [fellowship, common-life], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.

These four activities, or devotions, are encapsulated in the following STEP acronym, and are deliberately focused on to restore our souls, and fulfill Jesus' commission to make disciples:

  • Sharing.  Being hospitable, sharing, and serving others in need is foundational to our faith.  With our newly formed ministry - "The Closet", we aim to help support those in need of food and children's clothing.  As this ministry grows, we aim to extend further 'acts of kindness' to widows, orphans, sick, and imprisoned, as well as work parties for one another (Galatians 6:10; Titus 3:14).
  • Teaching.  No fluff here, we are a teaching church.  All of our teachings are presented in their historical setting with relevant application for today, giving special attention to the goodness of God (Psalm 111:2) - HalleluYah!
  • Eating.  An unlikely pursuit at the outset, but regularly "breaking bread" together is a great opportunity to spend non-hurried, quality time together - a regularly scheduled family-reuninion.  We have our love feast once a month, giving opportunity to corporately bless the Giver, and serve one another.
  • Prayer.  God has declared; "My house shall be called a house of prayer."  As the saying goes, a family that prays together, stays together!  We also strongly encourage every believer to make a habit of spending time in solitude with our loving Father, the Restorer of our souls.  Whether this solitude is in a prayer-closet, a special spot in the woods, or wherever it may be, make it a priority to spend one-on-one time with the God of love!

Springs also seeks to be family-friendly, providing the platform and opportunity for all generations to have a place they call home.  Smaller mentoring groups helps all of us grow stronger in our faith, our families, and in our fellowship. Our pattern is based on the Titus principle (Titus 2) - older men mentoring younger men, and older women mentoring younger women.
